Our Expert Review of Hotels in Frankfurt, Germany

Frankfurt is a dynamic city and a cultural center as well. The skyscrapers are a clue to Frankfurt’s prominence as the financial and economic capital of Germany and a major European trade center.   But this is also the city where literary giant Goethe was born.

To find the traditional center of Frankfurt, go to the Hauptwache square in Old Town near the central station.  Most of the Old Town was destroyed in the Second World War, but some wonderful buildings have survived. The Romer consists of three Burgher houses from the Middle Ages and Bartholomauskirche Cathedral was the coronation site of emperors from 1356 -1562.

Frankfurt is not a city for a one-day visit.  There is so much to see and do, you’ll want to stay awhile.
